Theatre Schools Network - Colombia

The Theatre Schools Network -Ret- is a work group that comes as an initiative of the Theatre Schools Meeting of the Bogota´s District which was held in 2006. In this meeting participated the academic community and Bogotá´s theatre movement. Since its beginning one of its goals is to strengthen the Colombian theatre academic community.

La Red Escuelas de Teatro -Ret- es un grupo de trabajo que surge como una iniciativa de la comunidad académica y del sector teatral de Bogotá reunidos en el Encuentro Distrital de Escuelas de Teatro en el año 2006. Nace como una propuesta conjunta con la intención de reunir en el futuro todo el sector académico del teatro.

    Regular Activities of the Institution
  • Festival universitario de teatro de Caldas. It´s a student festival which is done in Manizales, after the International Theatre Festival of Manizales.
  • Festival de teatro universitario is organized by Universidad de Sonora since 2005.
  • Theatre schools national meeting - Encuentro Nacional de Escuelas de Teatro. Since its foundation the Ret has done an annual meeting of theater schools. Each year the topic of this meeting varies, but almost every time there are discussions and workshops. In these activities both students and teachers participate as equals.
  • International colloquium of theater schools: Since 2016 Universidad Antonio Nariño, Universidad de Sonora, Universidad Central and Ret Colombia have organized the colloquium each two years. This academic event has three parts: master classes, academic presentations and performances.
  • Encuentro escénico - It is an event organized by Universidad Antonio Nariño since 2014. It has four parts: workshops, show of performance in progress, research presentations and performances.
